Medicine in Kaliyuga

Shrimad Bhagawat describes Kali yuga in great detail. The Age of Kali begins with the gradual decline of righteousness which is supplanted by unrighteousness; the life in the Age is characterized by loss of character, corruption, abuse of power, indiscriminate use of muscle-power, exploitation and helplessness. It is the Dark Age.

In spite of the all-pervading negativism, the Kali yuga has one redeeming feature, says the Bhagawat, and a very bright one at that; it assures high reward for even an infinitesimal good work, and great merit for a very insignificant obeisance offered to the Lord; as simple a thing as chanting the Lords  name or singing the glories of the Lord or even just listening to devotional songs helps one a great deal; it lifts one from the mundane level and places him on a higher spiritual pedestal which ultimately  leads to the Lord Himself. And we owe a great deal to the saints this land has produced, who have composed a great number of prayers and devotional songs for all people to reach God, successfully breaking the shackles of Kali!
